BoatShop Summer Camp - Middle School Girls

Grades 6th-8th

9AM-4PM - Monday July 21 - Thursday July 24th

CAMP IS FULL!

Girls Middle School Camp students will:

  • learn the basics of sailing aboard Caledonia Yawl, Roxy Ann and Thunderbird No. 2, Pirouette

  • learn basic seamanship aboard the historical gig Porpoise

  • Expand knowledge of knot tying and how they are used on the water

  • use a compass and read a chart to navigate the South Sound

  • continue use of Shipwrights power and hand tools

  • learn how to work together while rowing a twelve station long boat

  • be introduced to the world of the wind and tide and how to plan a voyage

What to bring to Camp each day to maximize your child's camp experience. Please bring with you each day:

1. A sack lunch - We have a refrigerator available to store food until lunch time

2. A water bottle

3. Sunscreen

4. A hat with a bill 

5. Closed toed shoes for work in the Shop

6. Water shoes for on the water activities

Please plan to allocate 30 minutes on Monday morning at 9am for camp orientation and registration with your child. Registration and drop off (9am) and pick up (4pm) will occur at the Boatyard house (brick house down the driveway) each day.
